3 years ago, I was publishing my first blog article. Three years, a Pandemic and a lot of soul searching, this project is undoubtedly, I am convinced, the one that most resembles me. Turning 50, I had finally chosen, what I had always wanted to be.
Aime Imagine Design‘s mission is simple. Share my ”Coups de coeur”, my Creative Projects and my Vision of the world.
On March 19, 2019, I published 3 articles in one day. No, lack of ambition, was not a problem! In the first article, I talked about my ”Coups de coeur” from the Toronto Design Show. In the second, I presented my passion for Vignettes (and for furniture from IKEA’s Vittsjö Series). In the third, I talked about my way of seeing life and doing Design… Differently! I am proud of the progress made and even more proud that my primary objectives have never changed!
Creating Beauty and Helping People to be Happier… In their Homes… and Lives

For some time now, I’ve been thinking about sharing my IKEA ”Coups de coeur”. Gathering the different Series, Articles, Furniture and Accessories, I quickly realized that my little project was going to be a little bigger than expected.
So I divided My series of ”Coups de coeur” into 6 parts. Over the next few weeks, I will present different products, curated, purchased for me and/or my clients, over the past 20 years. I decided not to include the new items (perhaps I will make it the subject of another serie), but only articles that have passed the time, trends and seasons!
- Outdoor
- Hallway & Living room
- Kitchen & Dining
- Bedroom
- Bathroom & Laundry
- Home office & Art studio
My item is not monetized or sponsored! I don’t work for IKEA. I work for my clients and readers, to offer them the best options!
All photos were taken from the IKEA website, except for the photos with rounded corners. In this series of 6 articles, you will be able recognize the photos of my personal projects, by the rounded corners.
In this first part, I chose the ÄPPLARÖ Serie. I bought my first pieces, more than 10-15 years ago. The Serie has evolved, but many articles are still available. Timeless pieces, at a very reasonable price, that can easily be mixed, with many other types of furniture.
ÄPPLARÖ

ÄPPLARÖ Bench, on the balcony of my first condo. For small spaces or larger ones.

Bar-height tables (42 inches), (which unfortunately no longer exist), which I cut to 30 inches and use as dining tables or side tables. The Stools are perfect as small side tables.

Lanterns, Wax or LED candles
HEMSJÖ

Pretty the way trough fall and even Halloween. Remember to put them away for winter, unless you have a covered space.

Have a good Spring! The warmer days and our ÄPPLARÖ furniture will be back soon!!!
