Imagine… All the People… Nous étions en Janvier 2020.

I first came upon his work on the train between Montreal and Toronto. After a long but oh so inspiring visit of the Toronto Design Show, as I had almost giving up to return to the Hotel, I found myself in front of his booth and had this immense ‘’Coup de coeur‘’. Interesting to go back to this post, written weeks before our lives were about to be changed, by the virus that had already started to spread around the world. I am mesmerized by the picture I chose to illustrate this article. I just had no idea how relevant it would become. It was January 2020! Before everything changed.

‘’ My name is Owen and I’ve been a sculptor working out of my workshop studio in Peterborough Ontario since 2013.
I initially trained as a welder before attending art school on the East Coast and Amsterdam.
My work combines industrially produced goods with intricately hand cut patterns. These discarded artifacts of the last century are re imagined as an unnatural resource to work with and carve into. The patterns I choose often reference the life and work of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement.
I believe in the power and autonomy of Craft, decentralized and accessible.‘’

We just love Bob and the Goats!
