I think I started creating Vignettes, before I knew what a Vignette was. They can be decorative, useful and even better, they can be both! For me, it’s a little bit like a painting. I like objects!!! I love objects! I like their colors, their stories, their uses… I admit, without being superficial, my objects add happiness to my life!

When we bought our house, it had been renovated and the design had been done with great taste by the ex-owners John and Claude. But I needed and wanted to add my own touch. I needed to see my objects, my collections, my memories and so many other things…

We really like IKEA’s Vittsjo Collection and have integrated it over the years into our different spaces… In this shelf, few objects are only decorative. I have my little dessert bowls, my glass bowls found at a flea market, some Jadeite bowls from Fireking, some recipe books, a citrus press and all sorts of everyday objects. Antiques, beautiful objects, family heirlooms, you have to see them, you have to use them. It’s time for them to do their ”Coming Out”! Tomorrow morning, prepare your toast and take out your family china that will remind you of your mothers and grandmothers. Love your things! If there is no love or use… Out! They go!
