Laëtitia… Exceptional Woman, Mother & Grandma!

I’ve always loved writing. In recent years, this way of expressing myself has become a need that I have ignored for way too long.  I’ve never written long texts, let alone an entire book. In the last few months, through all the grand and beautiful changes that have taken place in my life, the need has become more and more present.  But what should I write about… For whom… What for… Questions and ideas that have been on my mind.

From day one of my aime imagine design creative adventure… my Blog’s Purpose, was to share my creative projects & my vision of the world, to shine a light on people & places I was inspired by… all this, while bringing a bit more happiness and beauty to the world.

I had never imagined that my Texts, my Projects and my ‘’Coups de Coeur’’, would allow me to make connections, that would help me achieve my dream of writing.

Thanks to all those who have read me, who have shared their appreciation with me and who have also shared little bits of their lives, I am able to share with you my new creative project.

With my Father’s passing a little over a year ago, I felt the need to keep this bond with his past and his native Beauce.  By sharing some of my ‘’Coups de Coeur’’ in the last few days, I learned that my great-grandmothers were making ” tapis youkés” (hooked rugs), which I am about to experiment with, in less than a week.  I also learned that my grandmother Laëtitia used to collect “insulators” to make decorations, just like I did this past Christmas.  The people who shared these precious memories with me will recognize themselves.

On January 1st, as I woke up, I was struck by the conviction that I had to write about my grandmother, whom I barely knew but with I have always felt a strong connection.  I was four years old when she die and I don’t know if the memories I have of her… have been told to me.  Before I forget everything and because I want to know more about the exceptional woman she was, I want be her voice and her memory’s keeper. I will need the help of all those who loved her and who will want to do it with me!

Sitting at my desk in our new home with my the most amazing view of the ocean, I am now embarking on my first literary project. I will let myself be carried by the stories told & the memories shared… and we’ll see where it will take me…

To my Dear Grandma…
