A few days before Easter, I had the great pleasure of participating in a Floral Arrangement Workshop, offered by Svenja Dee, a wonderful Designer and Florist from Lunenberg. A pure delight for the eyes and the heart. There were Tulips, daffodils, roses, ranunculus, branches, pussy willows, different foliage with a vast choice of containers. It felt like Christmas in the Spring! Follow me in this wonderful activity that I recommend to everyone!

It took just a look at the piece of ”chicken wire” square, to understand what we were about to do. How flowers seemed to mysteriously hold in place. Svenja presented us the different flowers, foliage, and branches. She explained why she would chose to use ”chicken wire” mesh instead of floral foams blocks, which can’t be recycled, reused or put in the compost.
Depending on the container chosen, you form a rounded shape to insert it into the container. All you have left to do… is to make sure it fits snugly and will hold the flowers in place.

Our Easter Monday Maritime Brunch !

A renewable arrangement …

The flowers withered but the foliage is still very much alive. Buds even sprung on the branches. I removed what had gone and refreshed the water. I will get some flowers in the next few days and revive my colorful creation.
