Moe Piuze Le design de notre existence Galerie Jean-Letarte Boucherville 2023

A Spring Artistic Coup de coeur – The Design of Our Existences – Moe Piuze – Galerie Jean Letarte – Boucherville

I discovered the work of Moe Piuze a few years ago at Papier – Contemporary Art Fair. His artworks, for the last two years, have been part of my Coups de coeur, and it continues! Last week I had the pleasure of visiting, The Design of Our Existences at the Galerie Jean Letarte in old Boucherville. A beautiful walk along my Saint-Lawrence with my Barry, and an inspiring visit inside the whimsical and colorful universe of an artist who describes himself as a ”researcher-handyman”. For those who know me and have seen my recent ”scroll saw” experimentations, you will understand why I wanted to share his wonderful world!

« “The Design of Our Existences” is a project of assemblages crafted from materials often found or donated. It brings together a community of characters who share the common trait of expressing an attempt at self-improvement, self-construction, or existential renovation, with all that implies in terms of heroism and pathos, claimed or denied narcissism, and renewed idealism. It deals with scars and aging through a bricolage aesthetic, conceived as a way of repairing and healing wounds and memories through material and symbolic operations.» Moe Piuze

Until May 14th 2023!
